TEMPLETON AFC WIN "
THE MALONE TROPHY " ( 2 - 6 )
Templeton played in an invited pre season match against St Pats at the 50 pitches in Glasgow. On a good afternoon both teams played some nice passing football. Within the first 10 minutes St Pats and Albert had come close with shots at both ends and eventually the game was broken with Templeton taking the lead. As the game progressed Templeton caught the Pats defence on the turn and scored sometimes with ease. In a more even 2nd half St Pats clawed back a couple of goals but in the end it was a win for Templeton to ease into the new season. The Trophy was presented to Wullie Malone of Templeton Albert , who is the son of Mr Malone who was involved with St Pats and passed away recently.

Templeton Albert went into their first game of the season against Erskine FC which is the start of their 1st division challenge. Right from the kick off Templeton midfield with Blair, Mickey and Kennedy controlled the passing with Dearie and Div running from the front. Following some good crosses and work on the wings a ball played through the centre was run onto by Div who lobbed the goalie from the box, an excellent start for a very polished player. Defence was marshalled by Phil Blair with Queenie and Algie solid and assisted by Mitch and Anderson.2nd Half continued the same with the forwards causing problems, a great through ball by Div to Dearie saw him pass the ball passed the goalie for the 2nd. Game over....... a third headed goal from the same two players finished this as a contest against a very good Erskine team. Man of the match was Dearie although on the day there were good levels from all players. With McDevitt, Brogan, Campbell,Bell and Lennox to return and a couple of possible new signings still to be made the team is looking very strong.Manager Jim Anderson will be happy with this start. Templeton Albert played Erkine for the 2nd time in as many weeks in the league. Right from the kick off Dearie headed for goals and within a minute had slotted the ball passed the Erkine goalkeeper, 0-1. As the game progressed Erkine had a lot of pressure but Templeton defended well from the forward line with Dearie and Div and Anderson to the midfield's Brian Blair, Mickey and Muir solid as ever. Paton in goal was superb in handling crosses and shots and with Reilly, Phil, Queenie and Kennedy solid there was little openings for Erkine. As the first half closed Dearie scored another to give Templeton a comfort factor at half time. The 2nd half saw Dearie and Div causing more problems for the Erskine defence and both these two scored again over a very good game against a good Erskine team. Muir was replaced with Beanzy as he returned from a short spell at another level and Stewart and Mat came on to freshen the side up. In the end a comfortable win against a good Erkine side but it has to be said Templeton were good last year but this year they have improved well with the additional players and fitness, they are at present top of the 1st division and the only problem will be keeping all the players happy with so many excellent players and such a tight squad, a good problem for Jim Anderson the manager and his staff. | KILBARCHAN 0 V TEMPLETON 5 / LEAGUE / DATE 9/09/2006 |
Templeton Albert came up against last years league winners Kilbarchan at home. The pitch must be the most uneven surface I've seen but with both teams matching each other in the early stages the pitch was soon forgotten about. Both sides had early chances but football was in little demand as the ball lobbed from side to side. Paton in goal was having another cracker, if there is a better goalie in this league I have yet to see him, after some good defending from Blair, Mitch and Queenie the ball was squared to Kennedy who hit a speculative shot from his own half. It was missed by the home defence and the goalkeeper with some assistance from Dearie and rolled into the net! Strike of the season!! This settled the Temps who took control of the game and had other chances to go further into the lead. Div and Dearie up front were causing problems and with Brian Blair, Beanzy and Mikey controlling the midfield assisted by Anderson it looked as if more was to follow. Paton had other great stops and half time came and went in a very fast half. Dearie added to his tally with a hat trick and looked likely to score every time he had the ball with Div also doing the same. Some slack defending lead to the other goals from the forwards but the pressure Kilbarchan was under it could have ended with more. The home team hit the bar twice and the ball was cleared on the line by the Temps defence but this was nothing compared to the double act of Kennedy and Paton as the former hit a header over the goalie for him to stretch and push the ball onto the bar!! We looked twice to see if " IF BEADLE WAS ABOUT"..... with subs Muir and Bell and Algie coming on, the home team might have thought the pressure would have waned but this pool of players are all equally as good, and this is not including McD,Connolly,Hughsie and Stewart and big Mat!!Excellent result from the team and another hard game next week against Renfrew at home.Man of the match was Phil Blair for outstanding defending, Well done Phil....no goals lost this season...... | TEMPLETON 7 V RENFREW THISTLE 2 / LEAGUE / DATE 16/09/2006 |
Renfrew Thistle were the next team to meet Templeton at home. The game started with a changed team due to work and illness to a couple of players. Paton in goal started his game as he left last week with some smart saves and supported by Bell, Kennedy, Muir and Anderson. Thistle use the long ball a lot so Blair and Beanzy found it hard to open the game up. Within minutes Dearie and Div were causing problems to the away defence but it was Beanzy who followed up on a bad clearance to put Temps ahead. This was followed by Dearie scoring 2 goals and Thistle scoring a couple in a fast moving first half, peppered by some bad defending from Templeton's. The 2nd half started with Div, Mikey and Dearie moving up a gear and opening the away teams defence time after time. Div scored his first of the day with Dearie adding another for his hat trick. Blair added to the defeat with a header and finished by Div for the 7th. Paton had some cracking saves through the match but the fitness of Templeton's showed as the game moved to the final minutes. Subs, Stewart, Connolly and Hughsie kept the pressure on Thistle until the final whistle with other chances created. Man of the match Paton was outstanding along with Div and Dearie. Next week is a holiday so no football. MAN OF THE MATCH : BRIAN PATON GOAL SCORER : DEARIE ( 3 ), McKAY ( 2 ),BEANZY,B.BLAIR.

| TEMPLETON 0 V EK UNITED 3 / LEAGUE / DATE 30/09/2006 |
Templeton went into this game on a high as they top the league which has surprised and delighted everybody. They soon came back to earth with a bang following 2 excellent chances to go ahead EK hit a speculative shot which Paton dropped into the net. This summed up the day for Temps as they pushed for the equaliser Div, Dearie, Anderson, Brown, Beanzie...all had chances but failed to convert. Templeton hit the bar and post over the 90 minutes numerous times and had 3 stone wall penalty claims ignored. While pushing in the 2nd half a long ball again from Ek found the defence posted missing and Mitch could only header the ball onto the Ek forward for a 2nd goal followed by a last minute shot to finish them off. Ek were worthy winners but equally the score could have been 8-3! Templeton has to learn to control and breakdown teams in this new league without giving away poor defensive goals. Work rate and effort was aplenty from the team, their commitment is unquestionable but the management has to build them as a unit to support each other. Scottish Cup next week with Shawlands at home, maybe the players will be focused and a little bit wiser. MAN OF THE MATCH : NO AWARD GOAL SCORER :

| TEMPLETON 5 V SHAWLANDS 1 / SCOTTISH CUP / DATE 7/10/2006 |
Templeton 1ST round in the Scottish cup was against a Shawlands side who were confident of an away win. Temps started similar to the conditions, about 90 miles an hour..... within minutes both Dearie and Div had broken through the away defence and has shots on goal. The goalkeeper at this point looked uneasy at the cross balls and this was underpinned when a corner from Stewart went in, his first for the club. With a very strong wind assisting them Templetons went further ahead when Div scored to keep up his challenge for top goal scorer. Mcdevitt with both the Blairs and Kennedy were controlling the game with Mikey and Queenie comfortable in defence. Paton in goal was back to his best with a couple of good stops but Div was to add to his tally before half time with another 2 goals. This was completed in a fast 1st half by Beanzy with a well placed shot in the corner. The 2nd half was uneventful as Shawlands and Templetons cancelled each other out in midfield and both forwards failed to score except for a single goal close up by Shawlands from a corner. Man of the match was Queenie for an outstanding performance with the team back to competing and challenging for every ball combined with a return of McDevitt to strengthen the team. Templeton play Thorn Athletic in the next round away from home. Next week Templeton play Bishopton at home in the league. MAN OF THE MATCH : QUEENIE GOAL SCORER : McKAY ( 3 ), CLEARY, STEWART.

| TEMPLETON 8 V BISHOPTON 3 / LEAGUE / DATE 14/10/2006 |
Templeton started this game with a few changes due to players with Campbell,Muir,Div,Connolly and Queenie missing from the start. Straight from the kick off Templetons looked hungry for goals and within minutes had Bishopton under pressure. Bishopton came up with Temps last year and are a good outfit but on their day Temps were the hungrier. Blair opened the score after McDevitt hit the bar followed by both Dearie and Beanzie with a fantastic shot low in the net from fully 25 yards. This was followed by.... YES.... the tit of the week Div McKay who latched onto varies moves to score sometimes with ease. At the end of the 1st half a comfortable lead was justified but straight from the kick off Bishopton pounced on a slack pass and rifled in a great shot. As the game progressed Blair found himself in the penalty box and turned to fire a shot home for his 2nd Templeton, at this point had re established there control. Bishopton scored from a couple of defensive changes which affected the team but overall a match won convincingly with Kennedy and Phil controlling the centre back and Reilly outstanding with Beanzie and McDevitt and Brian solid. Subs of Hughsey and Queenie continued the pressure. Next week Templeton play Dynamo EK at home in the West Cup 1st round. | TEMPLETON 2 V DYNAMO EK 1 / WEST CUP / DATE 21/10/2006 |
Templeton took to the field against Dynamo EK in the West cup 1st round on a wet day at Crownpoint Rd Glasgow. Both teams started well with EK hitting the post within minutes from a long range effort, Temps responded by pushing the ball wide for both Dearie and McKay to come close. Corners were causing problems for both teams on a very wet surface. From a corner Dearie spun and hit a goal in a crowded penalty box to give Temps the lead. Although the play was scrappy Templeton had the better of the play with both teams evenly balanced on effort. Dek won a corner and from this equalised with a smart shot, even at half time the Templeton management had a few words with the team. The 2nd half saw more pressure from Temps but little reward, the post and bar were hit on various occasions and a good couple of penalty claims were ignored by the Referee. From a good move half way through the 2nd half Dearie ran onto a long ball which escaped the keeper as he came out and Dearie from a tight angle pushed the ball home for a 2-1 lead. A very good goal from such a tight angle. As the game came to a close both teams had opportunities to score but overall Templetons deserved their victory and now play Waterside next week away in the 2nd round of the West. Man of the match was Graham who as a late call up excelled in defence. Reilly and Mikey with Kennedy were the pick of the bunch but all the players were worked hard for this result. MAN OF THE MATCH : BILLY GRAHAM GOAL SCORER : DEARIE( 2 )

Templeton beat Thorn athletic in a very close fought match. Thorn were a very good young side and pressed Templetons the whole game. Paton in goal was outstanding and on the day was the difference between the 2 teams. A goal from Brian Blair and a OG on the day was the difference in the slim margin. Templeton now play Stone house Thistle in the next round. MAN OF THE MATCH : BRIAN PATON GOAL SCORER : BLAIR, OG

| TEMPLETON 7 V STONEHOUSE 1 / SCOTTISH CUP / DATE 25/11/2006 |
Templeton next opponents were Stonehouse in the Scottish. This was the first match for a month and the players were eager to start. Within minutes Anderson had scored from a corner followed by Blair, this set the level for a game played in extreme conditions but on a very good park. Templeton followed the scoring with Des hitting a hat trick with some excellent covering work over the park and individually players like Kennedy,McDevitt Blair and Dearie all working hard. In defence Paton with Algie and Mikey were solid and Div with Beanzy supporting from midfield were class. Big Mat was back to his best and solid in defence and Stonehouse had no response to the well taken goals Albert fired in. The 2nd half was more of the same with some well taken goals from Dearies volley and Hughsey with a cute header. All in all a well done job against a very good and hard Stonehouse team who caught Templeton on a good day. Man of the match was Derek Anderson for a complete and selfless display with excellent support work and a hat trick to boot!! | TEMPLETON 2 V ORCHARD PARK A 1 / LEAGUE / DATE 9/12/2006 |
Templeton at last got on with league business after the rainfall over the last couple of weeks. Right from the start Park were well up for this match and have had a few good results lately. First into action was Paton in goals with a spectacular stop in midair from a hard shot. This was followed within minutes from div who hit a cracker which was saved by the Park goalie. The game was being played mostly in midfield where Blair,Beanzy and McDevitt fought for everything, the game turned on a couple of strange decisions from the Ref. The goal for Temps came from a well taken free kick from Anderson who hit it over the keeper in 20 minutes, a excellent shot to put Templeton onto a deserved lead. Within minutes a speculative punt caused problems for Paton and the Temps defence with the ball clearly ending up in the net, but handled by Kennedy in the net. The Ref took the decision to award a penalty and send of Kennedy, never seen anything like this guy in my life!! Even after the game he confessed that he got it wrong but had to stick to his decision. Park scored from the penalty ending the half even. Second half was all Templetons with Park charging about as the game closed but the winner was from Div Stewart who made his way through the defence with 20 minutes to go and tangled with the defender who claimed he was fouled but Div hit the ball low to score the winner. As I said 2 debatable decisions from a inconsistent referee who causes controversy every week. Templeton were the better team on the day but were pushed by a well organised Park team. Beanzy was man of the match with Algie and Blair not far behind. A workmanlike performance from the Temps who are showing how hard they are to beat, good team performance. MAN OF THE MATCH : ALEX CLEARY. GOAL SCORER : DES ,DIV

| TEMPLETON 2 V BELLAIRE AM 0 / SCOTTISH CUP / DATE 6/1/2007 |
Templeton first game of the New Year was in the Scottish Cup 4th round. Temps had a few names missing with suspensions to Kennedy, Flu victim Mikey and Clearie on holiday. The re shuffled side kick off and straight away the Bellaire keeper saved from Dearie and Anderson. Templeton were well on top through the game and although the players worked hard the general play was scrappy. Paton was called into action with Bellaire attacking on a rare occasion with a good save. Following a good move Dearie burst through to put Templeton into a well deserved lead. Still most of the football was being played in midfield where Blair, McDevitt and Smithy were all working hard. With minutes to go a great move from a free kick allowed Blair to cross to Div to finish the game off before half time. The 2nd half was more of the same with Charters, Reilly, Anderson and Div all coming close. The Bellaire keeper was in tremendous form and kept the score at 2 when it could have been 10! Templeton move into the next round and are now caught in a busy schedule because of the games cancelled. Excellent game from the team and hard working all round from all the players. Jim Anderson the manager will have a problem when all the team returns and declare themselves fit, well done Jim. MAN OF THE MATCH : ALEX REILLY. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE ,DIV

| STEADFAST 0 V TEMPLETON 2 / LEAGUE / DATE 27/1/2007 |
Templeton at last got a game due to the weather. A League game against Steadfast on a sloping heavy park on a cold day, a well, great Scottish weather. The game started off with both teams testing the defence but to be honest this game was all Templeton with the occasional push forward from Steadfast at free kicks. It was a wonder the score was not in double figures as Templeton pushed over the 90 minutes. The first goal was a well worked move down the right hand wing with a cute pass to the back post for Mikey to slot home for the first goal. Half time arrived with the Steadfast defence and goalkeeper pinned back for most of the half. The 2nd half was similar to the 1st with Templetons Kennedy, Mcd, Riley and Mikey all solid in defence with Blair, Smiddy and Stewart and Anderson all working hard. Paton had little to do but a 2nd goal came from another well worked move with Div Mackay firing home from close range. An easy victory against a well organised Steadfast team which ended a very scrappy game. Templeton players all individually played well but as a team it showed they have not played for a few weeks. Man of the match as Kennedy who opened the defence and cleared danger when required. Next week Templeton are at home in the Scottish Cup 5th round. MAN OF THE MATCH : MICHAEL KENNEDY. GOAL SCORER : BROWN ,DIV

| TEMPLETON 6 STRATHMIGLO 5 / SCOTTISH CUP / DATE 3/2/2007 |
Templeton faced up against a very strong looking East coast team in the Scottish cup 5th round. Strathmiglo had a few good scalps to their name as Temps pushed forward in the early stages. Shots from Dearie, Div, Anderson,Blair and Beanzie all caused the away defence problems. Templeton were well on top with no problems in defence. With 30 minutes gone and Templeton failure to score caused anguish as a bad clearance from Paton went straight to a Strath forward who lobbed the goalie for an unbelievable 1-0 lead. The relief was clear on the away side of the park with disbelief at the home side. The home defence at this point had not been tested but within minutes the away forwards scored again from a scrappy clearance from a very unsteady home defence. As half time loomed closer a well worked pass through the away defence on the wing was squared to Dearie in the box who hit a well taken goal, 2-1, as the whistle blew for half time. Manager Anderson had a few harsh words at half time but as the team moved into the 2nd half it appeared nothing had improved! Within minutes the away team had scored from another mistake making the score 3-1. Div MacKay then scored his first to breath some life into the team followed again by Div to make the score 3-3 , what a game for the neutrals but for the club members who have seen Temps only lose 9 goals all season in the league this was a complete mystery....... At this point Templetons over the piece had been the best team against a very good Strathmiglo squad even with Paton saving some good shots and Anderson clearing with his head off the line with everybody beaten. Nevertheless a penalty from Kennedy allowed the away team the advantage again. Any other team who had worked so hard but given away so many bad chances and found themselves behind again would have wrapped it, but these guys do not know when to give in, They persisted in attack and it paid off with a quick 1, 2 from Div again, (what a goal machine this guy is ), Templeton Albert 5 Strathmiglo 4. Templetons made some subs for Anderson and Riley and Dearie with Mitch and Muir taken the helm and Charters in the middle , with 10 minutes left Muir scored to give the cushion needed at 6-4. The game ended with another defensive lapse to make the final score 6-5. As we said a great game for the neutrals but hell for the management. If you were the away team you would have felt claims for another penalty and a draw, but over the piece I have to say Templetons edged it as the attacking team and in Div Mackay a great personal day for him. Templetons go into te next round and next week the cup dreams continue with an away tie against Waterside in the West cup, we all hope the defence shakes itself by then, a hard won victory from a very hard working Templeton squad, well done. MAN OF THE MATCH : DIV MACKAY. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE ,DIV(4),MUIR.

| WATERSIDE 1 V TEMPLETON 2 / WEST CUP / DATE 10/02/2007 |
Templeton at last played their long awaited west cup draw against Waterside on a very uneven and heavy pitch. A few changes were required due to injury and missing players but Jim Anderson started with another strong squad. From the kick off both teams found the conditions a leveller with the wind and pitch causing problems. First chance went to Dearie with a shot followed closely by Blair and Beanzie. All Level in 20 minutes and the game exploded with a bad tackle on Dearie, the Ref did not take the correct action whereby Temps showed they would hold their own against the opposition. As the game settled down another defensive mistake allowed the home team the advantage 1-0. With constant pressure from Temps a scrappy goal was pushed into the net from Riley, 1-1. 2nd Half was more an even match with Waterside starting to play football against the wind combined with Temps tiredness a close game and extra time looked to be looming. Dearie had another couple of shots saved and Blair hit the bar from a header, Anderson hit the far post as Temps went for the winner. From a corner Campbell rose above everybody to bullet a header into the net, game over. Although Waterside had an earlier chance squandered Temps were well in control over the 90 minutes and should have scored more. A hard worked win with all the pool playing important roles against a very good Waterside team. Mat Campbell was man of the match on a bitter day and with next weeks game against Milngavie in the Scottish cup at home looming, no rest for the team. MAN OF THE MATCH : MAT CAMPBELL. GOAL SCORER : RILEY,CAMPBELL.

Templeton were at home to Wanderers in the 6th round of the Scottish Cup. All teams at this level are very good and so it was with this game, straight from the kick off both defences were well on top with Div coming close with a header after 10 minutes. Dearie had a few opportunities also. Wanderers defence were well marshalled but rarely in the first half did Paton in goals have anything to do. In midfield McDevitt was strong with Beanzy and Kennedy to back him up. Anderson was using the wing well for crosses but as the half time approached the scoreline remained empty. In the 2nd half Temps pushed again with shots from Dearie and Div assisted by Beanzie and Campbell with a header. Wanderers broke through midway through the 2nd half but on both occasions badly missed the chance to go ahead. Subs of Muir and Mitch livened up the Temps formation as Brown and Charters through injury. Wanderers were having a problem with Mackay as he ran at the defence, but overran the ball on occasions and with Phil Blair now at central position Templetons forced high balls to cause problems for the Wanderers defence. Just as it seemed a replay was on the cards a Beanzy corner was met by Blair and hit on the volley by Div, hit the crossbar and dropped over the line and back out, great goal and good timing. From our position behind the goal ,we, as well as the Ref, who had a similar position could not mistake the ball was over the line, even although the opposition complained, it was a good goal. Game over but not before Temps had other chances to go further ahead before the final whistle. Man of the match was Steven McDevitt who was immense and Templetons now go into the hat to the last 16 of the Scottish cup. Next week Templetons are away to Newcastle at Hamilton in the West cup game. Templeton are going further this year than expected and look like a very good team and hard to beat. Well won the team....... MAN OF THE MATCH : STEVEN McDEVITT. GOAL SCORER : McKAY

| DRUMCHAPE AMS 4 V TEMPLETON 0 / SCOTTISH CUP / DATE 3/03/2007 |
Templeton went out to Drumchapel in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup. Right from the kick off Templeton looked comfortable against a strong Drum side who had reached the latter rounds of national competitions regularly. An early crossed ball from Anderson then Muir were both cleared from a strong defensive line in the Drum team. Temps were making most of the play and pressing the opposition when a great through ball found Dearie who passed the last defender to score but the Ref incorrectly ruled offside, Dearie was well on when he had the ball another Refereeing mistake. As the game restarted Temps passed the ball but equalling matched by a very good Drum side. A couple of bad clearances from the Temps defence put them under pressure and when Paton cleared another it went straight to the Drum forwards who took advantage and scored....1-0. Within the 1st half another mistake allowed the Drum forward to put them 2-0 ahead, was there any way back for Temps, it did not look easy as this side were very strong. Templeton pushed and from a free kick outside the box hit the woodwork and in this spell of pressure a corner was handled by the Drum defence as it cleared their lines, no penalty as the Ref never seen any infringement. Half time team talk by Manager Jim Anderson changed the formation to 3 at the back to pressure and gain back something from the game, as it progressed in a similar fashion to the first half sloppiness in defence again cost a goal, 3 gifts in a game at this level and you will never win anything! Temps continued to push but with few players showing there true level it was a uphill struggle. Drumchapel finished it off with a 4th goal and with Campbell being booked for a hand ball and a 2nd offence the game was over as a contest. Templeton players let themselves down on the big occasion and although they are a young team to many did not play on the day. Drumchapel are a strong well organised team and Temps could learn a lesson from them for the future. Reilly, Mikey, Mcd and Kennedy were noticeable on the day and we wish Drumchapel the best for the next rounds. Templeton need to pick themselves up for Wednesday as they play Broomfield in the West cup away. Jim Anderson will also have to lift his players and freshen the squad as the season progresses. MAN OF THE MATCH : STEVEN McDEVITT. GOAL SCORER : N/A

| GIFFNOCK NORTH 5 V TEMPLETON 1 / LEAGUE / DATE 17/03/2007 |
Templeton returned to league duty in a quickly re arranged game against 2nd top Giffnock. Possibly not one of their best ideas on a very windy and wet day but more important was that half the team let themselves down with their display. Right from the kick off the Templeton defence was very slack and within minutes a badly defended ball in the penalty box was poked over the line for a instant lead. Not taking any notice from this the defence continued their slackness and allowed a cross ball from the GN winger to bounce between the defence and goalie and bang... 2-0. This nightmare continued for most of the game. Dearie locked onto a through ball and shot from outside the box pulling a great save from the Giffnock goalie, this was followed by a few other chances before Div McKay went through on his own and rounded the goalie for a special goal. Following this Div was subbed due to injury, and any chance of pulling goals back. With an own goal being poked passed a dismal defence the first half ended 3-1. The 2nd half continued with a corner from the Giffnock team and the smallest player on the park headed a goal!! Subs were used in an effort to change the game but there was little possession and Templeton put the goalie under no pressure. Giffnock played the easy game by clearing their lines, very effective. As Templeton pushed, other chances were missed by GN and on another day the result could have been much worse. It is hard to praise players on a result like this but even the bad weather would be no excuse. Man of the match was Smiddy who worked hard and tried to play a passing game. Templeton play Broomfield next week in the West Cup, the team and management need to look at themselves and respond. MAN OF THE MATCH : DAVE SMITH. GOAL SCORER : McKAY.

| BROOMFIELD ROVERS 1 V TEMPLETON 2 / WEST CUP / DATE 24/03/2007 |
Templeton travelled to Ayrshire for their 6th round of the West Cup. With suspensions and injuries to several players Jim Anderson the manager had to juggle the team pool and following last weeks hiding, solidify the defence. Right from the start Dearie was on fire with a couple of quick through balls and with Taylor playing centre forward and holding the ball the system seemed to be working early on. Broomfield were a strong and experienced team who are doing well in their league only being beaten once. As the match progressed a couple of good corners from Anderson caused trouble and from a great header Taylor put Temps in front. In a good tempered match the football flowed from end to end with both goalies having a few good saves. Midfield was being held by Blair and Beanzy with new man Simon doing well at centre defence. An injury to Mitch early on had Reilly in the action playing well. Charters held the defence and bossed the opposition assisted by Mikey and Smiddy. A great move down the wing with Beanzie found Dearie who hit a great shot to put Temps in a commanding 2 goal lead. 2nd half and a mistake in defence trying the offside found the Broomfield centre forward through in his own, Chuckie stood up and pulled a great save, an important save from Chuckie as the game progressed. Broomfield had the Temps defence under pressure and from a bad clearance from a header Broomfield scored to make it 2-1. Dearie and Taylor were still causing problems with Beanzie and Smiddy controlling the centre with Blair, on a few occasions Dearie hit the ball as he spun being unlucky and Anderson was causing problems from the left. On a few centred balls the forwards were blocked by the Broomfield defence who cleared. Subs of Phil and Graham saw out the match as Templeton deservedly won 2-1 and go through to the next round. Next weeks match is against Partick West in the cup, another good team from the GGPL at home. MAN OF THE MATCH : DAVE SMITH. GOAL SCORER : TAYLOR. DEARIE

| TEMPLETON 4 V PARTICK WEST 2 / WEST CUP / DATE 31/03/2007 |
Templeton were at home to Partick West in the next round of a backlogged West cup. The home team started off with some ease and this seemed to set the pace for the game over the 90 minutes. After only 10 minutes Blair, after some good work by Taylor, hit the ball in the net for the first goal. Templeton were marshalled at the back by Kennedy and Charters with Mikey and Anderson causing problems going forward. Beanzie with McD and Smiddy worked the middle with Dearie's speed causing problems up front. Dearie not to be left behind hit a 2nd goal to end a easy half 2-0. The 2nd half West pushed forward and pressured Temps with some good football but after 15 miinutes a great cross by man of the match Smiddy was headed by Taylor for a 3-0 lead. A bad tackle by the West defender on Kennedy earned him a straight red and within minutes Dearie had his 2nd and Templeton's 4th. Manager Anderson made the subs with Reilly, Barkley and Blair all coming on for the last 20 minutes.Templeton took the game as over and relaxed but West kept pushing and scored 2 goals from slack defending in the last minutes. A well earned victory i the end, pity it was against one of our own teams, now Temps play on Wednesday against Dynamo at EK in the league. Man of the match was Brian Blair with a solid game at central defence, well done Brian. MAN OF THE MATCH : BRIAN BLAIR. GOAL SCORER : TAYLOR. DEARIE 2. BLAIR.

Templeton played in this rushed West tie against Strathclyde University on a bumpy pitch both teams tried to play football with Templeton being the better of the 2 teams. Dearie and Taylor were causing problems with the defence being marshalled again by McD and Kennedy. On the half hour mark Taylor popped up to add to his scoring tally, and before half time Dearie ran onto a through ball to lift it over the keeper for a 2-0 lead. The 2nd half was more of the same but in the end a Taylor goal and a well taken goal by Beanzy allowed Templeton to ease into the next round. Man of the match was Brian Blair with another outstanding performance at central defence. MAN OF THE MATCH : BRIAN BLAIR. GOAL SCORER : TAYLOR (2), DEARIE, CLEARIE.

| DRUMCHAPEL UNITED 3 V TEMPLETON 2 / WEST CUP / DATE 7/04/2007 |
Templeton were away to a very good Drumchapel team who have done well over the last years in the National cups. Templeton in the first half were solid and took the game to a pretty average Drum team and within the start had a goal from Div and another from Dearie to ease into a 2-0 lead. This should have been 3 but the Ref saw fit to rule a certain goal not allowed. In this half Templeton were playing well but slowly the Drum team started to win the ball in midfield and pressure the Temps defence. With changes being made across the team the shape seemed to be lost and pressure was applied with Drumchapel scoring and eventually levelling the score line. Templeton were on the back foot against a very strong Drum team and eventually the pressure told as the home team scored. An end to the West cup run and now Templeton need to pick themselves up for the league title which has to be won in a very competitive league setup. Man of the match was Steven Mcdevitt who worked as always. MAN OF THE MATCH : STEVEN McDEVITT. GOAL SCORER : McKAY, DEARIE.

Templeton came up against a Garrowhill team who have won a few of their last matches i the league. Templeton started well and within minutes Div had cut inside 2 defenders and hit a low shot passed the GT goalie. The rest of the first half was Temps pushing the ball about but not putting GT under any pressure and when the chance of extending the lead arrived it was lost with poor final passing or finishing. McD was excellent with Kennedy, Reilly and Charters solid. Big Marvs return was solid at central defence and Smiddy was hard working in midfield. From a corner Big Mat header was saved well by the goalie, if it was not for the GT goalie the game would have been well over before half time. As the pressure mounted in the 2nd half Div beat the goalie and defence to a through ball by Reilly, 2-0. Now the Temps were in control and passing was done well which lead to another great goal by Beanzy from a great through ball from Kennedy. The game was finished when Div scored his hat trick and I have never seen a game won with 4 excellent goals. A comfortable win in the end for Temps who now play Dynamo Ek at the Green on Saturday. Man of the Match was Eddie Dearie who worked very hard over the 90 minutes. MAN OF THE MATCH : DEARIE. GOAL SCORER : McKAY (3), CLEARY.

| TEMPLETON 10 V DYNAMO EK 0 / LEAGUE / DATE 14/04/2007 |
Templeton were at home to Dynamo in their first league encounter, although they had meet earlier in the season in the cup with a narrow win. The game kick off in sunshine and for the first 20 minutes it was a very level game with both teams passing well but no pressure on the defences. In a quick solo effort McKay opened the scoreline. The floodgates seemed to open and with Templeton playing good football on the deck it was not long before Dearie Anderson and Div all scored again. Some of the goals were well worked down the wing and crossed over for a neat finish ,. others were more sublime in the hit as Templeton took control of the action. Kennedy has made 3 assists with Smiddy and Cleary with McD in the middle. Reilly, Charters and Campbell were solid and pushed the team forward at will. 2nd half the subs were used with Barkley, Hughsey and Simon all playing a part in the continued flow of football, Paton in goal had a couple of stunning saves on a day he watched the football and with Beanzie moving to centre his first goal was to slip past the defender and hit a low volley into the bottom corner. Smiddy added to the score with a well hit shot from 25 yards following a clearance. 10- 0 at the end of the day with the game played in a sporting manner, Temps were just to good but worryingly the second game against Dynamo is on Monday so Jim and the management team will have to assure there is no easing in their quest for the league. Man of the match on a day where all the players were outstanding was Charters who is also Tit of the week for a shot which ruined the day......... Next game for Templeton is Monday in East Kilbride. Goalscorers McKay and Dearie with hat tricks were outstanding, Kennedy with the assists, Anderson and Smiddy worked hard and good introductions for Barkley and Hughsey. MAN OF THE MATCH : CHARTERS. GOAL SCORER : McKAY (3), CLEARY (2),DEARIE (3), SMITH,ANDERSON.

| WEIRS 1 V TEMPLETON 3 / LEAGUE / DATE 18/04/2007 |
Templeton unabated slog to the end of season continued against Weirs on a very hard ground which made good football impossible. Both teams started well with Weirs looking a better side than there league position shows but it was Temps who were headed into the lead from Taylor who converted a from a cross from Anderson. On the 30 minute mark Dearie ran through the home defence to notch another for Templeton. 2-0 but this was not a one way affair as Weirs pushed forward to get back into the game. The 2nd half started with Templeton playing the better football and the game was all but over when Beanzy took a ball on the wing and ran inside to hit a unstoppable shot passed the goalie for the third. The home team never gave up and scored as Templeton took their foot off the pedal to make the final score 3-1. Templeton continue towards the league title with a lot of hard games still to play. Man of the match was Reilly and the next game is Weirs in the League Cup away, not the way you want to play football but with a successful run in both the West and Scottish cups Templeton need to live with the pressure. MAN OF THE MATCH : ALEX REILLY. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE.TAYLOR.CLEARIE.

| WEIRS 2 V TEMPLETON 5 / LEAGUE CUP / DATE 21/04/2007 |
Templeton visited Weirs for the 2nd time in quick succession this time in the League cup. The formation had changed with 3 at the back and 5 in midfield, Anderson and the management team had to adjust their line up to suit with Taylor dropping into the midfield. First to score was Div with a solo effort again to put Temps into the lead but within minutes a speculative shot was pushed into the net by Paton instead of over the bar. Heads down and working again Templeton still were not flowing as they should but Dearie hit a 2nd for Temps and eased them in front again. Defence was a problem as a unit but individually each player was doing well, with Kennedy and McD pushing on they started to raise their level. 30 minutes on the clock and another well struck shot hit the underside off the bar from the Weirs midfield and into the net, 2-2. Within this time both sides were trying to play football on a bumpy pitch and if the keeper had not been outstanding the score could have been into double figures. Taylor popped up with minutes to go in the first half to slot a pass from Dearie into the net. In the 2nd half it was more of the same with Dearie and Div missing early shots, this continued through the game but a penalty award for a foul on Dearie eased the tension with McDee scoring for the first time this season. Another goal from Dearie settled the score and finished the game. The Weirs goalie was outstanding with bad finishing from Templeton, the score could have been far higher, but on the day man of the match and birthday boy Kennedy strolled through his game and now Templeton meet Kilbarchan in the next round of the league cup.Next game is on Monday against Dynamo EK at Strathaven then Steadfast at home at the Green on Wednesday. MAN OF THE MATCH : MICK KENNEDY. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE (2).McKAY.TAYLOR.McDEVITT.

Templeton meet Dynamo again as the league comes to it's close with an away game in Strathaven. The line up confused Anderson and his management team as it looked like 1-8-2...... Sure enough the dullest game ever seen was played out with dynamo chancing a nose bleed if they crossed the half way line. As a match this was a none event with Campbell and Anderson the goal scorers and when Dynamo moved upfield Paton had a couple of excellent saves to keep Temps in the game. In conclusion Chuckie at right back was man of the match with Templeton easy winners. MAN OF THE MATCH : MARTIN LENNOX. GOAL SCORER : ANDERSON.CAMPBELL.

| TEMPLETON 3 V STEDFAST 1/ LEAGUE / DATE 25/04/2007 |
Templeton played Stedfast on a windy night at home where football seemed to be out of the question. Both teams kept the ball on the ground and within the first 10 minutes Dearie cut through the defence to put Templeton into the lead. This settled the team with McDee and Kennedy with Charters all playing well in defence and the same for the midfield and forwards. With half time approaching and the score line looking bare a sweet right footer from Beanzy into the top corner finished a fantastic move with a great goal. In the 2nd half Templeton moved up a gear with some good football and Stedfast done the same, for a team at the lower end of the table their football and passing was causing Temps problems. A cross from the Stedfast winger caught Kennedy and Barkley together and a foul on the forward caused a soft penalty, as the Stedfast forward hit the ball, Paton had a great one handed save to keep the score line intact. Right after this A great ball from Kennedy to Barkley with a swift cross found Div on the end for a header to make the score 3-0. As the game progressed Templeton moved into easy mode and apart from a late goal finished the game comfortably, man of the match was Phil Barkley with excellent display on a night most of the team played well. MAN OF THE MATCH : PHIL BARKLEY. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE.CLEARY.McKAY.

A first for the year for Mickey who was named man of the match for his workrate and covering on the wing. Templeton now play Ferniegair in the next round of the cup. Templeton played their last game against a changed Garrowhill side who have had a lot of injuries lately and have drafted in a few new players for next year as they are to leave the league. They did not make it easy for Templeton as the scoreline suggests. Man of the match was Brian Blair for his central defensive effort which showed how hard the game was, the only difference in a good game was a double from Eddie Dearie to add to his already good record in the top goal scorers table. Templeton at this point have a couple of games to go before clinching the title, but every game at this point is hard to win with other teams playing for survival or to stop Templeton winning the title. MAN OF THE MATCH : BRIAN BLAIR. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE (2).

Templeton came up against a very good Renfrew team who have done well this season. Templeton and Renfrew scored between them terrific 6 goal feast with each goal a cracker. Templetons man of the match was Alex Reilly with a solid game again, Alex has been one of the most improved players this season in his defensive role. A penalty from Steven McDee set the Temps on their way with a goal added to from Div Stewart who is returning from injury and another added to by Derek Anderson. Templeton had some slack play in defence to allow Renfrew back into the game but a fair result in the end. Templeton stride towards the winning line goes on........ MAN OF THE MATCH : ALEX REILLY. GOAL SCORER : McDEE. STEWART. ANDERSON.

| EAST KILBRIDE UNITED 1 V TEMPLETON 2 / LEAGUE / DATE 8/05/2007 |
Templeton started off against EK playing good football on the ground. EK were one of only two teams to date to beat Temps........ This match followed the same pattern as previously with Temps pressuring the home team and a combination of fantastic goalkeeping and badly missed chances the score remained a draw until half time. Templeton were pushing from the wing with Anderson sending cross balls in and Dearie and McKay running at the home defence, midfield was marshalled by McDee and Blair with the defence of Mitch, Algie and Kennedy being well supported by Campbell. Mikey was sending in crosses from the wing but the home goalkeeper was in top form. The 2nd half started much the same but with EK a solid and experienced team, pushing forward , the football from end to end flowed. A through ball found Dearie who hit his first of the night, at this point it could have been numerous goals, where have we heard this before......... From the kick off EK pushed again and Templeton started the casual passing and sloppy defending which has lead to various goals this year. From a corner EK headed an equaliser. Templeton restarted and pushed again as they had done for the previous 80 minutes, more saves and chances were aplenty and with a couple of minutes to go Dearie dived at the far post to head Templeton back into the lead. A tough win for Temps who now have a couple of cup games, methinks the league are trying everything they can to extend any chance of an upset with possible injury or suspensions....... but Temps will win. MAN OF THE MATCH : EDDIE DEARIE. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE (2).

| FERNIEGAIR 2 V TEMPLETON 2 ( 4-5 PENALTIES AND EXTRA TIME ) /CHALLENGE CUP/ DATE 10/05/2007 |
Templeton played another game in a punishing schedule against the Gair who have a good chance of promotion to the 1st division this year, the Challenge cup tie was played on a bumpy, hard surface with football at a minimum. Within Ten minutes Kennedy had to be replaced due to injury and with a skeleton team it was hard to overcome a good competent Gair side who defended and fought well. Temps tried to play football but with a terrible surface and a equally inept referee flowing football was scarce. In the first half there was rarely a goalscoring opportunity but when it appeared the home goalie was equal to the shot. In the 2nd half Dearie found himself through and put Templeton into a 1-0 lead. As the game progressed shots from Anderson, Div, Beanzy all flew past the posts with the goalie saving from a few well placed headers and shots also. Just as it seemed thing could not get worse the defence floundered to clear the ball, even after several attempt to clear it found it's way to the Gair forward to level the score..... extra time. This is an extremely tired outfit who have put a lot of effort into this season and done very well but it is taking it's toll on them, within minutes of the extra time Div cracked a shot which screamed into the net and at last settled the team. A farce of a decision by the Ref also allowed the goalie who was in the net with the ball to play on, it was one of those nights. Just as it seemed nothing else could happen a clearance bounced into the Temps defence and caught the last defenders hand, a penalty. Following the equaliser the teams lined up for the penalties and at the end a narrow victory for Templeton against a very much improved Gair side. Templeton now play Kilbarchan on Saturday in the League cup where hopefully they will have had a rest to do themselves justice. A hard won victory for Temps with injuries and tiredness the winners. MAN OF THE MATCH :STEVEN McDEVITT. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE. McKAY.

| TEMPLETON 5 V KILBARCHAN 0 / LEAGUE CUP SEMI / DATE 12/05/2007 |
Templeton came up against a strong Kilbarchan side who won the league last year as the 2 sides played for a place in the final of the League cup. On a terrific park the football from the start was good. Both teams settled into their play with Templeton looking the more likely, after a very even 15 minutes Campbell was carried off following a clash with a Kilbarchan player, this seemed to up the tempo for Templetons who replaced Mat with Cahoon who slotted into midfield with Blair going into defence. From a Anderson corner Dearie headed into the net and before this a great shot from Beanzy was well saved by the goalie. 1-0 and Temps were playing good football and this was followed by Div McKay to make the score 2-0. Kilbarchan could not get into the game for any length of time with the Templeton players working hard. While the score stayed at 2-0 there was always a chance of Kilbarchan coming back but this was finished when Dearie scored in the 2nd half to finish the game as a contest. If it was not for some good defending and goalkeeping this scoreline could have been a lot higher. Temps were controlling the game on mass with the midfield dominant, running through was Dearie again with Div inside a cut back found him to make it 4. The difference with linesman showed that weekly we have a couple of decisions against us simply due to the speed of the forwards, today was different where we were allowed to play. A 5th goal followed from another cut back to Blair who completed the scoring. A very impressive performance against a good Kilbarchan side but on this form Templeton are unstoppable. No man of the match award as the team was outstanding but another perfect day for Dearie and Div with impressive games by Derek Cahoon and Div Stewart. Templeton now concentrate on the league business this week with games against OPM and Bishopton. MAN OF THE MATCH : THE TEAM. GOAL SCORER : DEARIE (2). McKAY (2). BLAIR.

| OPM 1 V TEMPLETON 1 / LEAGUE / DATE 14/05/2007 |
Templeton are now in the latter stages of the run in for the league title and the nerves seem to be getting the better of them, in a tight game against OPM who had to at least draw with Templeton it seemed to be longest night on record. With Erskine winning Templeton needed to keep the pressure on but OPM were well up for the game and this showed over the 90 minutes with an impressive work rate and stamina. Within 5 minutes Anderson hit a 25 yard shot which whizzed past the goalie for an early lead on a wet surface. The rest of the first half was controlled by midfield and defensive tackles from both sides as little of the 2 goal keepers had much to do. In the 2nd half OPM came right into the game and pressured Templeton, this was not helped by the substitution of Beanzy and the change in formation but Templeton settled down again to block the OPM challenge. With shots firing in from all angles Templeton were lucky to ahead and as the game progressed you felt that OPM would never score. Half way through a tough match McDevitt was red carded by the Ref which added extra strain to the Templeton defence. Just as it seemed that Templeton would be lucky to win and OPM dropped to the play offs a long ball was allowed to run without being cleared by the defence and with the goal keeper running out to pick up the ball, the defender hit it off the forward to bounce fully 20 yards into the goal. What can you say when this happens every week!! After all the hard work and effort and believe me these guys work hard, to lose these types of goals is sickening. OPM deserved at least a draw for their effort and focus, Templeton need to pick themselves up for Wednesday to play Bishopton. Man of the match was Brian Blair for solid defending and leading in all departments. This team has done to much and worked to hard to let this slip at this stage. Cmon the Temps. MAN OF THE MATCH : BRIAN BLAIR. GOAL SCORER : ANDERSON

Templeton are the Championeees....... at last back to working as a team and producing some terrific football earned them the points required to finish off a very impressive season for their first sample of the top division in the Greater Glasgow. Right from the start Div McKay caused problems with Taylor and a uneven midfield was soon sorted when Kennedy was moved back to sweeper with Charters moving into the middle. On a wet night Templeton played some good football and it was McKay who got the opener with his speed and agility causing problems. This was levelled out before half time with a header from a corner. The nerves showed at the start of the 2nd half even although Templeton had varied chances to increase their lead but bad finishing and good goalkeeping kept the score level. Div moved into top gear and scored a classy 2nd goal to settle Temps and from there on in the game was over. Taylor scored to make it 3-1 and Brian Blair finished a great move and completed his man of the match award with a great goal. Reilly pushed Brian close in having a great game , a very improved player for Templeton. Finally a goal from Div sealed the victory and a hat trick for the forward as Templeton eased into pole position with a confirmed total in winning the league. The Templeton players and management have worked hard for this campaign and have settled some comments that they were not up to the task, Well done to Jim , Billy and Wullie with a special mention for the players who have stuck to the task and won there first trophy of this season..... now for the cups!! MAN OF THE MATCH : BRIAN BLAIR. GOAL SCORER : McKAY (3).TAYLOR.BLAIR.

Templeton played almost their last game against Giffnock who beat them well a couple of week ago.In the first half it looked as if the same thing was about to happen again with a 1-0 then 1-1 scoreline then 2-1 to Giffnock at half time. Beanzy was playing well in his favourite position at central mid and Barkley was also having another good game. McKay was still hot on the ball and scored another hat trick to take him well into the lead in the goal scorers chart in front of Dearie. The 2nd half saw Templeton settle down to play some good football again and with Kennedy missing and Reilly and McDee injured Stewart was also playing well but he also picked up an injury...... hopefully this will not effect them for Friday's final!! With goals from McKay and Taylor and another from Beanzy the score and match was well settled in Templetons favour before full time.Man of the match was Beanzy with a complete display in assisting goals and scoring closely followed by Barkley and Stewart. Templeton now play Garnock Valley in the quarters of the cup on Monday away. MAN OF THE MATCH : ALEX CLEARIE. GOAL SCORER : McKAY (3).TAYLOR.CLEARIE.

Templeton returned to Giffnocks park to meet a good Renfrew team who had drawn with Templeton in their last game. From the start Templeton had Renfrew under pressure with shots from Danny Taylor, Div McKay and Beanzie all coming close. In that 20 minute spell Renfrew hit a few speculative shots but no problems for Paton in goal. From a cross Div hit the crossbar and on the rebound Taylor headed Templeton into the lead, just what was needed. Following this McKay again had a few close calls but as the game progressed McKay hit a 2nd to finish off a great move. This was followed before half time from a free kick just outside the penalty box where Div hit a cute shot to the bottom post 3-0. At this point it has to be said Renfrew never stopped working and Templeton had a job fighting for the ball in midfield where Beanzie was working hard with McD and Kennedy. Both backs in Mitch and Algie were impressive with a lot of work being done by Mickey and Anderson. The first goal from Beanzie was little to the 2nd he was to score but In the 2nd half it took time to end this as a contest but with a goal from Taylor Templeton were running the show. The final nail in the game was a sweet pass through a defenders legs and a curled shot from Beanzie to finish the game off and a well rewarded man of the match award to Alex for a sublime display and hard worked shift. Charters, Connelly and Barkley all came on for a good spell to finish off a well deserved win for Templeton Albert. Templeton now have won the League and the League cup and now play Erskine in the next semi final of the Challenge cup to meet Renfrew in the final. on Saturday next. MAN OF THE MATCH : ALEX CLEARIE. | ERSKINE 1 V TEMPLETON 5 / CHALLENGE CUP SEMI / DATE 28/05/2007 |
Templeton went into this game knowing that they could be the first Templeton team to win a treble in a domestic league. With 7 players missing or injured it seemed a large ask to beat this capable Erskine team who had pushed Templeton all the way in the league this year......... Right from the start Erskine were the better team pushing the Temps defence back and shots being saved by Paton in goal and clearances by Campbell on the line. As Templeton began to play a bit of football Erskine kept pushing through this very good young team but slowly Div and Taylor with Kennedy and Mickey started to impress. With the first half almost over and Templeton holding onto a even match Div McKay found himself being pushed wide and with 3 defenders in front cut inside and unleashed a terrific shot, 1-0 to Templeton. Following the break and within a couple of minutes Erskine had levelled the score from a corner with little challenge from the Temps defence. Once again Erskine pushed but not to be outdone Taylor found himself pushing with McKay forward again to score another goal quickly followed by Taylor's first of the night. In between this a Brian Paton save which has to rate as one of the best saves of the season was outstanding to keep Temps in front. With Kennedy and the central pairing of Campbell and Shaun solid Templeton started to play more fluent football where both Div and Taylor got another couple to finish the game of as a contest. The score line belies the story of a very hard game fought by both teams for 90 minutes but in the end the workrate of the Templeton team is always a factor. The Templeton team players were all stars in a hard fought match with Div McKay, Paton, Kennedy, Big Marv and Shaun solid and Anderson, Mitch Algie and Hughsey all working hard. Templeton now play Renfrew in the final on Saturday. MAN OF THE MATCH : THE TEAM. GOAL SCORER : McKAY (3). TAYLOR (2).

Templeton went into the last game of this season against Renfrew, right from the start Renfrew had Templeton under pressure with early good saves from Paton in goal as the Templeton defence settled. Within 15 minutes Reilly was carried off with a damaged angle to be replaced by Charters, this never helps a defence and Temps found it hard going especially as the Referee seemed to be very inconsistent with his decisions. Blair was fouled in the midfield and from the next tackle was shown the red card for kicking the opponent, once again the team being damaged by players lack of control, but it has to be said if this was a red card what followed in the match was bad refereeing in the rest of the match.! Hopefully someone was watching this Referee's performance!! Renfrew continued to press Temps in a very good game with both teams playing well until Beanzie popped up to give Templeton the lead at half time. Renfrew were the best team in the first half with their pressure and effort. As the 2nd half got under way a slip up by the Templeton defence allowed Thistle in to score and level the result. If Renfrew had the best of the 1st half, Templeton, with 10 men, had the best of the 2nd and following a shot which was stopped by a hand McDevitt stepped up to score and give Templeton the lead again.. As the game progressed Templeton looked to have weathered the pressure and with seconds to go in an extended injury time half , from a corner Renfrew levelled the score 2-2. My opinion, the ball was handled over the line and the goalkeeper was fouled but the Ref again ignored any offence. What must officials think, watching this?? Extra time and within minutes of the last part a fantastic pull from the Renfrew player and turn and shot hit the net, an excellent goal to make this an uphill struggle for Temps. Templeton applied even more pressure but even when they looked to have levelled the score through a shot in front of goal the linesman gave offside, this is where I question myself, It looked a great goal. While Templeton players complained the free kick was taken and another goal to put the tie beyond Temps. At the end of the day a great game with a deserved victory to Renfrew, who, over the piece, were slightly ahead of Temps, and with Templeton winning the League and League cup in their first year a great achievement even with 10 men who gave 100%. MAN OF THE MATCH : STEVEN McDEVITT. GOAL SCORER : McDEVITT. CLEARIE.
